Esad Širbegović was born in Banja Luka, Bosnia. He left Bosnia in 1992 due to the Bosnian Genocide, an event that deeply shaped his life and career. A... fter leaving his homeland, Esad lived in the United States, Austria, and eventually settled in Switzerland. Esad pursued his education across continents, completing his bachelor's degree in the United States before moving to Austria, where he earned a master's degree in computer science from the Technical University of Vienna. He worked for the Austrian government at the Federal Computing Center (Bundesrechenzentrum) in Vienna for many years. Currently residing in Zurich, Switzerland, Esad is a writer and analyst for various Bosnian media outlets. His work is deeply influenced by his experiences and focuses on the issues of Islamophobia and genocide.
